Annual Peacekeeper's Day Parade

Loraday is a proud supporter of the Canadian Military.  The owners of Loraday attended the Peacekeeper’s Day Parade. Here’s what CTV News had to say about the event.

Peacekeeper's Memorial Park in Angus is the site of a parade to pay tribute to National Peacekeepers' Day. The parade features recruits from CFB Borden. Every year in August, Canadian military members and veterans, as well as police officers, come together in ceremonies across the country to mark this day.

Canadian peacekeepers have come to be recognized worldwide.  The federal government estimates tens of thousands of Canadians have served on peace keeping missions and that work continues.*

“We go around to help other countries in need and unfortunately some of us don’t come back,” says Central Ontario Peacekeeping Association President Fern Taillefer. “We have a lot of people serving as we speak and their lives are in danger every single day. *

Canadian soldiers continue to serve all over the world in peace keeping.  Organizers in Angus hope events like theirs will continue to grow to honour those who have served both past and present.
